چکیده

Discretely controlled continuous systems (DCCS) represent an important class of hybrid systems, in which a continuous process is regulated by a discrete controller. The paper considers the problem of stabilizing the periodic operation of such systems under event-driven switching. The key idea presented is to adjust switching surface parameters on-line to the current behavior of the continuous system. To this end, only measurements at switching instants are necessary. The presented approach extends the well-known OGY-method for controlling unstable periodic orbits in smooth chaotic systems to this class of hybrid systems.

Design of optimal switching surfaces for discretely controlled systems

depend on the activated mode of operation q(t) ∈ Q and are influenced by disturbances d(t). The discrete controller implements a state-dependent switching law to trigger mode transitions in the plant, such that specifications r(t) imposed on the continuous state x(t) are met. A central control task of DCCS concerns the stabilization of stationary periodic operations, which map into p-periodic l...

Switching Surface Design for Periodically Operated Discretely Controlled Continuous Systems

Discretely controlled continuous systems (DCCS) represent an important class of hybrid systems, in which a continuous process is regulated by a discrete controller. The paper introduces a novel modelbased design procedure for periodically operated DCCS with the objective to produce a periodic stationary operation. The method exploits an equivalence to periodic control systems to obtain an event...

Analysis and Design of Discretely Controlled Switched Positive Systems

Discretely controlled switched positive systems are characterized by interacting continuous and discrete dynamics. Switching must take place not only to move the continuous state from the initial state to a goal state, but also to make the system remain in the surroundings of the goal state. The continuous dynamics are positive. This paper shows that if the continuous positive systems making up...

A new switching strategy for exponential stabilization of uncertain discrete-time switched linear systems in guaranteed cost control problem

Uncertain switched linear systems are known as an important class of control systems. Performance of these systems is affected by uncertainties and its stabilization is a main concern of recent studies. Existing work on stabilization of these systems only provides asymptotical stabilization via designing switching strategy and state-feedback controller. In this paper, a new switching strate...

Constructive global analysis of hybrid systems

Many systems of interest are dynamic systems whose behavior is determined by the interaction of continuous and discrete dynamics. These systems typically contain variables or signals that take values from a continuous set and also variables that take values from a discrete, typically finite set. These continuous or discrete-valued variables or signals depend on independent variables such as tim...
